Field, textural, mineralogical, and geochemical data were collected from the Coker Formation of Cretaceous age and the alluvial terrace deposits of Pleistocene(?) age in the Cottondale area to determine those criteria that could be used in the differentiation of these two units. It was found that no single criterion could be used with complete confidence, though a series of general criteria were developed.en_US
