The Intercollegiate Athlete as a Student in Higher Education: An Analysis of Career Expectations, Interests, and Academic Majors

The purpose of this study was to provide valid information about the special characteristics of student athletes in higher education. This research describes the career goals and expectations of a group of male scholarship holding student athletes and compares these findings to the basic career interests and academic majors for the same group. The study gives a thorough portrait of the academic and career orientation of the population.
