dc.description | Approval plans start with creating a profile of what is needed. Next a commercial bookseller monitors the output of hundreds of publishers on the library's behalf. When the commercial bookseller receives books from publishers, books are compared with the library's profile and, where matches exist, items are shipped to the library. Managing approval plans presents challenges for libraries and vendors. Innovations may lead to improvements of approval plans. | |
