Abstract:
Vivo is a piece for for two choirs of mixed voices, piano, percussion, and string bass. The piece isa result of improvisation in electronic media and uses unique combinations of timbres andspontaneity to generate an immersive experience for the listener. The text consists of only thetitle word, vivo, which was chosen for the Latin meaning of the word “to be alive,” or “to live.”Important elements of the composition include structured improvisation and aleatory, abstraction,and virtuosic rhythms.
